Film Experience
The American Dream
In 2017 I wanted to push my filmmaking abilities and make a feature film all on my own. I Directed, Produced, Wrote, Edited, and basically created a whole feature film. I crowdfunded some funding, went to family, and came back with a total budget of $5,000. $2,500, which were used in the production of the movie. The remainder was used in the film screening at the Santikos Bijou Theatre and in many marketing and deliverables such as closed captions and attempts to send to Netflix and iTunes Movies. I Managed to get the movie on Amazon Video, and it had some success, but the royalties were cents.
The Big game-changer came when I launched it on youtube, and with a bit of Facebook marketing, I managed to create some initial buzz around my movie, and from there, virality made it take off. The Movie now sits at a whopping 8.1 Million Views. It has done well in monetization and gained a great subscriber count of 18 Thousand Youtube Subscribers.

My Senior Thesis Film
Because I Love You
I wanted to dive into an event in my life that changed my family forever. I wanted to show a little bit of my life in film. I've been a big advocate of speaking out, sharing our wounds, and speaking about events in our lives that society tends to hide in our closets. Because I Love You is a live take into domestic violence. It was gunt-wrenching living it, so I wanted to make it gut-wrenching to watch it.
It was showcased with other films at the Santikos Bijou Theatre. The response to the film was exactly what I wanted. Silence and just understanding. My Short Film was later Selected to screen at The San Antonio Film Festival and Cine Festival.
